Jerry Oakes- CEO, Biography

Jerry Oakes began his career as an entrepreneur at 14 years of age, painting house numbers on curbsides!  In his twenties, Jerry founded the fastest growing automotive aftermarket company in the U.S. and was awarded the Governor of Texas’s Industrial Expansion Award.  In addition, his firm was named in the U.S. Congressional Record for this achievement.  The organization Jerry created grew to a sales force of over 6,000 in just three years!  To address the training issues of this rapidly growing company, Jerry hired motivational speaker Zig Zigler, and moved him from North Carolina to Dallas, where Zig became Vice President of training for Jerry’s firm.  Together they produced training materials, motivational tapes, etc.  A few years later Zig wrote “See You at the Top” and began his own company, with Jerry’s blessings!

Jerry has been a consultant to the National Space Institute, which worked for the advancement of the United States Space program in strategic alliances with Lockheed Martin, Boeing Aircraft, Hughes and other defense contractors.  Jerry’s involvement with the U.S. space program resulted in friendships with Dr. Edward Teller, the inventor of the Hydrogen Bomb and Dr. Wernher Von Braun, the father of modern rocket science.  Jerry was later involved in the “Salute to Wernher Von Braun”, where he served on a committee with Ross Perot, Tom Landry, Hugh Downs, Bob Hope, John Denver, and other prominent leaders.  Jerry has been a consultant to numerous national organizations, including the College of Nuclear of Medicine, Silva Mind Control, the University of Texas, Regent University, the University of California, the Christian Broadcasting Network, and the Christian Oilmen’s Association, where he served two terms as president. He has been recognized both Globally and Nationally in “Who’s Who” for his expertise in marketing.  Jerry is  also a member of the Licensing Executive Society (LES), the Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals (SCIP), and a founding member of the Texas Technology Transfer Association.

Jerry’s continuing fascination with innovation and technology inspired him to launch Synergy Consultants,  which focuses on the disciplines necessary to successfully bring new products and services to market.  Synergy has been a driving force in commercializing innovation and technology for the past fifteen years.  Some of Jerry’s best-noted consumer products include iron-on transfers and mood rings.  Synergy has helped numerous inventors bring their concepts to market.
